About the author:
Kathrin Sombold is a German photographer residing in Egypt since 1994.
Her passion for photography, that she took up at the age of 13, led her to complete a photography apprenticeship in theatre opera, ballet, and portrait photography. Further studies included Communication Design with a major in photography at the University of Essen. She lived in Sharm El Sheikh, Sinai, in the early ’90s, where she collected the material for her first book ‘Sinai People – Faces of Time’, published in 2020 by Diwan Publishing.
